Working within a very stringent time-frame Laura successfully delivered the multi-partnership Leisure excursions in Southern England for Cruise and Conference project funded by VisitEngland. The project focused on increasing the global competitiveness of Southampton and Plymouth as cruise ports and maximising the economic impact of some 2 million, and rising, international cruise passengers. Working collaboratively, Laura successfully created a new suite of bookable, commissionable leisure excursions to encourage more customers to step ashore and explore the cities and surrounding counties of Hampshire, Devon and Cornwall; undertook extensive B2B consultation including engaging the cruise industry; ran Welcome Host Gold workshops; delivered the first Cruise Business Seminar; collated and developed new collateral including the welcome for passengers arriving at terminals. Laura brought considerable, energy, drive, experience and insight to managing a range of complex relationships, turning the funding proposal into a credible action plan. This required tenacity, clarity and empathy with the different perspectives of the partners and wider stakeholder network. |
Dartmouth Mayflower 400
Dartmouth is one of the twelve towns that have taken part in the National Mayflower Partnership, and throughout the twelve months from Thanksgiving November 2019 has been commemorating the 400-year anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower to the New World, with a series of exciting events and projects, some of which will leave a lasting legacy well beyond 2020.
